Ojas is an inner reserve that offers us stability, immunity, resilience, strength, patience, understanding, compassion, softness, inner peace, calm, contentment and so much more ❤️

Here are some tips on how we can build and look after our Ojas.

🍠 eat natural foods that are digestible for our constitution. (sweet potato, honey, ghee & dates are some foods that are suggested in Ayurveda for building Ojas)

🎨 turn off screens & tech, try getting creative through craft, painting, cooking, playing music or playing games with friends instead

🧘🏽‍♀️ turn inward & quieten our mind through practices such as Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation

🍃 spend time in natural environments, try bushwalking, gardening or relaxing under the trees or by a lake

😴 get adequate sleep on a regular basis, and adequate rest / down time

🧠 be mindful of what "mind food" we take in. ie what conversations we participate in, what movies we're watching, music we're listening to etc. (unwholesome stuff & too much of it can actually deplete Ojas)

🐒 mantras/ Kirtan/ yoga music with "Sita Ram", "Jai Ram", the hanuman chalisa and "Jai ma" also support Ojas

😌 Abhyanga (self massage with warm oil) is a great way to look after our Ojas. sesame oil is tridoshic, ie good for all bodies. If you haven't tried it before, try googling Abhyanga for simple DIY videos.

🤗 hugs, laughter, good company & allowing LOVE into our life are intergral

I hope you enjoy exploring these nourishing tips and this yummy recipe below.

🌬 tip for Vatas: these treats can be tricky to digest if we have much air in our constitution, if that's the case for you, try eating these during the Pitta time of day (10am - 2pm) when Agni is usually stronger.

Jai Ram! ❤️
